Today, the Bond Congress of the CIS and Baltic countries started in Astana.
At the morning workshop dedicated to the regulation and infrastructure of the financial markets of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Ruslan Meirkhanov, the director of the Public Borrowing Department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, said that the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan is going to place eurobonds in tenge along with a small sukuk issue.
Sukuk is planned to be placed on the foreign market in the amount of approximately 300 million USD, solely for the purpose of creating a benchmark.
In parallel, work is underway to issue Panda bonds. "Over the past two months, many meetings were held, both with the representatives of the Chinese authorities and with the private sector. The issue is possible in 2019-2020," Meyrkhanov said.
Meyrkhanov did not forget about the corporate sector: "We will do everything to expand the capabilities of our financial sector."
